Changes to Senior Executive Team

AstraZeneca today announced Katarina Ageborg, EVP Global Sustainability and Chief Compliance Officer, has decided to retire after almost 25 years’ service. Jeff Pott, will assume responsibility as Chief Compliance Officer in addition to his current responsibilities as Chief Human Resources Officer and General Counsel and Pam Cheng will assume responsibility for Sustainability in addition to her existing responsibilities as Executive Vice-President, Operations and Information Technology.

Katarina joined the company in 1998 as legal counsel for regulatory affairs having previously run her own law firm. As lead of the Global Intellectual Property function from 2008 to 2011, Katarina streamlined the organisation and launched a new patent filing strategy before taking the role as Chief Compliance Officer – a role that also saw her appointed to the Senior Executive Team. In 2017, Katarina was appointed Executive Vice-President, Sustainability, expanding her remit and assuming overall responsibility for the delivery, design and implementation of the Company’s best-in-class sustainability programme, covering three priority areas: access to healthcare; environmental protection; and ethics and transparency. Katarina was also appointed President of AstraZeneca AB (Sweden) in 2018 – a role focused on strengthening corporate reputation and relations by actively representing the Company in the Swedish business and academic community. Going forward, Per Alfredsson, Senior Vice President, Global Biologics Operations, will assume this role.
